Examinations:
Standard Grade - By the time of the third year exams pupils
will have completed Health, Telecommunications and Electricity.
The S4 Prelim will test Health, Telecommunication, Electricity,
Transport and Electronics. On the day of the final SQA exam
pupils sit the General paper in the morning and the Credit in
the afternoon. Twenty percent of the overall grade is comprised
of internal assessment of practical abilities.
Access 3 - Internal assessment of each of the six units by
unit tests and one report from Telecommunications or Radiations,
one report from Electricity or Sound or Movement and one report
from Electronics.
Intermediate 1 – Internal assessment is similar to Access 3
with the addition of an external SQA exam used to grade pupils
from A to D.
Intermediate 2 – Internal assessment using unit tests and one
report. External exam lasting two hours is used to grade pupils
from A to D.
Higher - Internal assessment of units and one report. External
exam lasts two hours and thirty minutes. Click
